I was so very saddened to hear the news of the passing of my beloved Auntie Val. My deepest condolences go out to Uncle Kevin, my cousins Stephen and Mark, and families. I share the pain of your loss, and my heart feels for you all at this difficult time. Auntie Val was a truly lovely lady, and she will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. At this moment, I can’t help but find myself drifting back in time; to the days of my childhood and younger years. All of the memories of the wonderful times our families spent together; the good times; the summer holidays; the childhood happiness and joy; and of how close we all were as we grew up. It all comes flooding back as though it was only yesterday. And it helps to re-live those by-gone days in my thoughts at this moment. I will cherish the memories of Auntie Val, and those special times, in my heart forever. Please accept my apologies for not being able to be by your sides today, to farewell, and celebrate the life of Auntie Val. The bureaucracy of being in the process of renewing my annual visa has not allowed me to make the journey back to Australia at this time. But I will be with you in spirit, pausing to remember and reflect , while following the service and tributes from across the waves. I will look forward to the opportunity of remembering Auntie Val with a smile with you all when I’m next back in the country. She is now reunited with her siblings and parents. Stay strong. Greg
