My sincere condolences to Sandra and family, Dick was a lovely man and I had the privilege of meeting him when I worked at the Maribyrnong Works and Maintenance Depot of Asset Services and he would visit in the course of his duties. May God Bless you all and keep in his warm embrace. YvonneπŸ™πŸ˜“πŸ’”

On June 6th 2026 we lost my darling Dad, the man who loved me unwaveringly from the moment I was born. I was blessed to have him in my life for 46 years and yet I still wanted more time. He took in my husband Damien and loved him as one of his own. He was an adoring Grandpa to my son and their bond was truly special from day one. Some people say that one of the best things a father can do for their children is to show loyalty and respect to their mother, and his dedication and love for my Mum in their 52 years of marriage was unparalleled. Dad had many health challenges over the years but continually refocussed his mind onto solutions and what was still going well. I like to think he'll always be with me in my best character traits which is what I told him in his final days. Dad watched over those he loved tirelessly and before he passed the only concerns he voiced were about how we would all fare after he was gone and that he wouldn't get to keep enjoying our journeys and supporting us. He was only ever a phone call away, ready to drop anything to give some advice, come and pick me up from somewhere, or just have a chat. I remember once as a broke P Plater my car broke down and I was on the NSW border. He said "I'll rent a car trailer and be there in no time. Too easy." Rest in peace Dad, you will be forever missed and never forgotten. We were lucky to have had you in our lives.
