My husband Brian and I met Marion some 17 years ago. Brian met her while she was on the radio. See, we live in Alabama in America. Brian used to search for online radio stations and get them to play Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. They struck up a friendship and as they say, “The rest is history.” She became an honorary grandmother to our three children. Even though we’ve never met her in person, she is very much a part of our family. We can rejoice in the knowledge that we will still be able to give her a hug one day when we meet in heaven. We love her dearly and always will. Our prayers are with all of the family.

We honour the life of a remarkable woman whose strength, faith, and unwavering spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was a true prayer warrior—steadfast, bold, and full of grace—always standing in the gap for others with deep conviction and compassion. Until we meet again Marion John and Mari

Auntie Jimmy, (as us kids knew her as,) this is what we fondly called her. (Marion) was a beautiful lady that we all loved. I will cherish all the beautiful memories that I have of the times we all shared together whilst growing up over the years. I still haven't come to believe that she has left us so suddenly. I can still remember the day Uncle Kevin and Auntie Marion got married it was such a beautiful wedding. My heart goes out to Uncle Kevin and my cousins at this sad time, and to all that knew her. Marion had so much love to give everyone she met, and was never judgmental of anyone. She had a beautiful caring heart that will be forever in our hearts and memories forever. To my Auntie may you rest in eternal peace, we will miss you heaps.

We are saddened to hear of Marion’s sudden passing. Marion was an enthusiastic member of the Mildura Gideon Auxiliary and loved placing scriptures in medical waiting rooms, always praying over each scripture, that whoever read it would come to know Jesus as she did. Her infectious giggle, her unwavering faith, her warmth and generosity, a wonderful example of a woman of God. Our sincere condolences to Kevin, Stephen, Julia and families. The Gideons, Mildura.

Marion was a beautiful, gentle soul with strong Christian faith, a great sense of humour & a heart of gold She will be sadly missed by so many. O first met Marion several years ago when she answered the call for volunteers at my workplace, the Christie Centre in Mildura, supporting people with disability to have meaningful, self esteem & confidence-building opportunities that enhanced their lives which they otherwise may not have had. For her service we were truly grateful. R.I.P Marion. We will never forget you. xo

Dear Kevin and Family, We were deeply saddened to hear of Marion’s passing, yet comforted in the assurance that she now rests in the Saviour’s arms. We pray and know God’s abounding peace will surround you in the days ahead. Marion was a cherished leader at OneVine Community Church. Firmly rooted in our shared vision “to expand the Kingdom of Jesus Christ on earth,” her devotion brought life to every part of our church: she discipled others in prayer, shepherded our church in love, supported outreach efforts, and demonstrated spiritual maturity and kindness at every turn. In her years of faithful service, Marion “fought the good fight,” “kept the faith,” and “finished the race” (2 Timothy 4:7). She made the pursuit of heavenly glory her calling, gathering people into God’s heart, generously offering her gifts, boldly proclaiming Jesus in her witness, and humbly shouldering others’ burdens. The foundation she laid continues to bless us as our church builds upon her legacy of spiritual strength and sacrificial service. While our grief is raw today, we also give thanks: God entrusted Marion to guide so many toward hope. He knit a special love between her and our wider church family, and though she has entered the Lord’s rest, her influence endures in lives changed and deeper faith across our congregation. A few people from the church have shared messages of love and support: “I think the thing that sticks out in my mind about the two of them is how instrumental they were in my walk with God. It was during our home group meetings that I learned so much. My never ending questions — why, how, etc. — never went unanswered. They took time to explain things and give me resources. They gave me opportunities to grow by giving me jobs outside my comfort zone; they had faith in me. For that, I will be forever grateful. Also… I will never forget that they organised Maurie’s baptism in a few moments. Moz trusted Kevin very much.” — Helen Press “Marion stood out as a woman with a big heart. I will never forget her dressed as Superwoman, raising contributions for Share the Dignity, a cause she championed locally. Marion loved to comfort others. Whenever she sensed that I needed cheering up, she would send me a cat meme. I will forever remember her with a smile and a twinkle in her eye.” — Hannelore Storm “We admired and appreciated Marion very much for her love and concern for us as a family. She was always happy to see us; her eyes would sparkle with God’s love as she warmly welcomed us — whether at church or on the street. Marion regularly prayed for us and our children, and I’m sure God heard and answered those prayers. We will miss Marion and her warm, welcoming nature. God bless.” — Rick and Leslie Williams “I will never forget Marion’s steadfast faith and the way she prayed with me for my children. It deeply blessed my heart.” — Ruth Broughton To each of you, I pray you sense the Lord’s close presence, Jesus Himself promises “to be near to the broken hearted” (Psalm 34:18). Your memories of Marion are treasures no one can take away, and even as grief feels heavy, may it be softened by the assurance that her purpose and joy remain. She is alive for Jesus (Romans 14:8), and one day we will meet her again in final victory. Please know that your grief and loss are shared by our entire church family. With deepest sympathy and in Jesus’s unfailing love, Ps Luke and Victoria Milne On behalf of the One Vine Community Church family

To Kevin and Family, We were saddened to hear Marion has left us to be with her Lord. It seems only a moment since we enjoyed a meal with you, Kevin and Marion at the Red Cliffs Club and seeing her again industriously cleaning out your home on the spiders web road.Marion will always hold a place in our hearts as a wonderful Christian lady and friend and will be sorely missed by all those who both love and know her. All our love . Jonathan and Maxine Williams
