A service to celebrate the life of Norm Wright will be held on Tuesday (Oct 22, 2024) at 10am in the Federation Chapel, Lilydale Memorial Park, 128 Victoria Rd, Lilydale. Followed by light refreshments at the cemetery.
You are all then invited to share futher memories and refreshments at the Bayswater Football ground, on the corner of Mountain Hwy and Bayswater Rd Bayswater.

Condolences to the Wright Family on the passing of Norm, on behalf of the Parker Family
Norm. Thank you for your cricketing wisdom and guidance. I was lucky to have you and Ray looking after me for some of my junior career and will always remember your fierce determination and ruthless application of the rules. It was a time of learning and you shaped my keeping style, always reminding me about the value of footwork and “don’t snatch at it, let it come into the gloves”. And then in later years having the pleasure to keep to your fizzing leggies, giving it an almighty rip on wickets you’d also prepared. My favourite Norm quote about bowling was that in reality it’s quite simple….”bowl 6 balls on the stumps and they’ll hit 5 and miss 1”. The willingness to share your extensive experience, to help those around you improve and provide feedback was a trait we don’t always see in successful sports people. You gave it freely and in volume. Your unwavering support of both Bayswater cricket and footballs clubs has been quite amazing. Rest easy Norm. You will be missed. Our sincere condolences to all the family. Unfortunately we are interstate so unable to attend the memorial, but sending love in our stead. Scott, Julianne, Ryan Wilson
